About Kauli

The AI that keeps its word

Built by an operator, not a technologist — years of hands-on field work in construction, then years in the back office supporting the project managers and systems behind large portfolios. Kauli exists because we lived these manual headaches firsthand.

Intelligence without
compromise

We exist to help organizations embrace AI on their own terms. Every system we build, every engagement we enter, and every piece of advice we give is grounded in a simple belief: the businesses that will thrive in the AI era deserve partners who treat their trust, their data, and their operational reality with the seriousness they demand.

We don’t build generic AI wrappers, and we don’t build one-off custom software. We build one platform of AI products for construction — scope breakdowns, bid levelling, vendor management, company knowledge — and configure it to how your firm works, on a foundation where your data stays private and separate, the AI comes managed for you, and every product improves with every interaction.

Our name is a promise — literally.

Kauli — /kah-oo-lee/

From Swahili

kauli

A solemn word. A statement. A pledge. To give your kauli is to bind yourself to it — the embodiment of trust through language.

From Tongan / Polynesian

kauli

The protective resin of the Kauri tree — a natural sealant that preserves and shields against the elements. Protection made physical.

Put simply: a promise kept, and a seal that protects. Your data, your operations, and your trust — guarded, full stop.

What we believe

01

Your Data Stays Yours

From Swahili — kauli as pledge

Every interaction between Kauli and a client is a binding commitment. Data entrusted to us is protected, not exploited — and that’s built into how the system works, not just written in a policy.

02

Protected by Default

From Tongan — kauli as protective resin

Privacy and security are the default, not an afterthought. Your information is protected wherever it lives and wherever it moves — and when a client needs stronger protection still, we build it.

03

Built by People Who’ve Done the Job

We don’t build for an industry we’ve only read about. Everything on this platform is a job we’ve done ourselves — estimated, levelled, chased, and closed out — so it works the way the industry actually works, not the way software usually imagines it.

04

No Lock-In, Ever

You own your data. Unconditionally. We provide the infrastructure, the intelligence, and the interface — but ownership, portability, and the right to delete remain with you, always.

05

See It for Yourself

Trust is built, not assumed. We work transparently — showing our architecture, documenting how data flows, and explaining the choices we make — so the commitments we give are ones you can see for yourself.

Domain experts,
not just technologists

Most AI companies start with a model and go looking for a problem to point it at. We started at the other end — with decades in construction, on the estimating desk and in the bid room, managing projects, coordinating subcontractors, and answering for the numbers. We built Kauli around problems we already knew. None of this is theory to us — we lived it first.

That operating pedigree is the whole difference. We’ve levelled bids at nine on a Friday night, chased the certificate of insurance holding up an award, assembled the closeout book nobody else had time for, and watched a retiring estimator carry thirty years of judgement out the door. Every one of those moments is a product decision now — which is why Kauli fits how your team actually works, and why we can talk to your people in the language they already use.

Across pre-construction and estimating, project delivery and documentation, and the operations and reporting that hold a business together, we did the work before we automated it. That is the standard we hold every Kauli product to.
